Greetings Exorians,
As always thank you all for supporting Exora, and a Merry Christmas! Its almost the end of the year, and its been a banger of a year for Exora. We've grown to a higher playercount, provided lots of content and QOL updates have hosted lots of seasonal events and overall our community has grown strong.
Last year we had a list of planned updates coming this year. While some were not yet completed, lets go through some that were completed.
- Forbidden Temple
- This was a great end-game update, however lots of lessons learned. While it was a good content update, it provided a grind that was more of the same. It is definitely a lesson learned. The good parts were being able to consistenly grind out the materials needed, via the untradeables, which kind of acted as an rng failsafe. The models and boss were also a great part of the update.
- Overall, it was good but could have been executed better.
- 120 Slayer
- Great addition to the game, and overall made life a lot easier.
- It also gave danzig's more uses allowing you to gain skill monster slayer tasks.
- And of course, the multi-slayer instances which saves quite a lot of time.
- Danzig's Underground
- This was great for newer players that weren't able to do danzig's upper area. Gives newer players a chance to experience the skilling monster and bosses aspect, as well as prepare them for the upper area.
Of course, there were ALOT more updates we've done, that weren't mentioned in the years update.
- Sacrifice Skill
- This was awesome for the health of the game, and overall progression.
- Previously sacrificing was only sacrificing an item and getting points in return. While that was okayish it really didn't feel like a core part of the game. More so an item sink that was slapped together.
- Sacrificing now is great, you earn levels, get benefits for those levels and has a linear progression, so with every level you can sacrifice more items.
- We had also introduced a system that gave materials and rare items when sacrificing. While this idea is great, the rewards are a bit too low chance.
- Seasonal Events
- Our seasonal events have always been content packed. But this year we've upped it a bit with a lot more content to do for mid to end-game players. Such as the superior slayer, event superior boss, event fail-safe tickets and skill/battle pet armour.
- Overall, our events are great however one thing that is missing is a satisfying progression system with the event. That's one thing at least we're planning to change.
- Item Buffs
- Of course we had to adjust lots of items, especially melee and some range.
- Overall we're happy with how they've progressed but there's always room for balancing.
We've had great updates, and overall satisfying for the community. (except hunt). There's lots more to come. Here's what were planning on for 2025 in no particular order.
- Daily Challenges Revamp
- Daily Points, More Tasks & Difficulty, Shop that contains fail-safes, battle pass cosmetics and more.
- Cards System
- Highly customizeable system to enhance your gameplay.
- Think of stuff like, more dmg while on low hp, chance for an additional hit, 5% more strength.
- Cards would be scattered throughout the game such as raids, bosses and monsters. This will make it so even older content would still get played.
- Pet Changes
- There's a problem where you kind of don't want to waste resources when leveling a pet, until you get the best or close to it.
- We're looking in to potential changes to the system to allow for leveling even when you dont want to keep the pet permanently.
- Or completely removing pet levels. Obviously we wouldn't just do that without speaking/polling with the community, or providing refunds on resources spent.
- In short; we're not super happy with the leveling aspect of the pet system.
- More Hiscores
- We'll be adding more hiscores, we recently added the overall hiscores for raids,bosses and monsters the community loved it.
- Here's what were thinking at the moment.
- Collection Log Hiscores (Highest collection slots)
- Rank based Hiscores (baron, king, rebirth) and ironman.
- Slayer Prestiging
- As was discussed in our #suggestions channel. This suggestion has been accepted. We'll be able to release more information soon, but in short more slayer prestiges = more benefits.
And of course, throughout the year we'll probably have some new ideas and other content additions that weren't planned :)
